When I handed in my application for a new passport, the Consular official initially told me that atleast 1 month was needed for processing, which would have meant I would not be able to travel on July 29th after all. However, when I explained my travel plans, she said the best date she could promise me was July 23rd – after which I need to get the passport over to the South African Consular office for them to stamp the Visa. Both these offices are in DC, so I have to go back to DC again and again (and work weekends to make up for the time taken)
God has been merciful in bringing this trip together so far, so please pray that there wont be any hitches and that I’ll be able to get the papers in order and on time !
